Round-table "Popularising scientific information": a dynamic exchange of points of view

The round-table "Popularising scientific research", organised in partnership between Science & You and the Journalism Symposium, was held on October 18th at the Arsenal (Metz). Echoes on this dynamic exchange between researchers and journalists. 

More than 60 persons came to attend this captivating exchange between researchers and journalists. Somewhere between confrontation of points of view and shared opinions, the talks between the speakers have always been filled with passion. The main means of popularising scientific information have been analysed by our specialists: MOOCs, social networks, web and blogs... Their role and influence have been dissected to establish an overview of science communication stakes, and reveal blurred lines between the roles played by each actor: researchers, communicators, and science journalists. Are new rules of the game being invented? What are the precautions to take to popularise and release scientific information?
