Science & You launches its first training session for PhD students on the topic of open science

On March 17 and 18, Science & You will offer a two-days training session to PhD students of the Université de Lorraine, on the topic "How to cirulate your research in an open way?". This training will offer theorical and practical courses, as several workshops on how to use open access tools in writing and circulating research work will complete conferences from speakers from the academic world.  

In order to complete this training and to open it to a complementary point of view, it will be followed by a seminar animated by Stephane Berghmans, Elsevier’s Vice-President of Academic Relations.

9.30am-12.30am: open science and open access

Speakers:

- Jean-François Lutz, Direction of Documentation and Edition, Université de Lorraine: Circulating scientific publications in an open way: the various aspects of open access”
- Karim Ramdani, Institut Elie Cartan de Lorraine: “Open access at any price? Pying attention to publish in an ethical way”

12.30am-1.30pm: lunch break

13.30pm.4.30pm: workshops on how to master thesis related open access tools:
- Creating a research blog with Hypotheses: Claire Placial, Centre de Recherches Ecritures
- Creating a quality document with LyX: Paul Rougieux, INRA
- Filing your thesis in open access: Laurence Martin, Direction of Documentation and Edition, Université de Lorraine
- Filing an article in Hal: Célia Lentretien, Direction of Documentation and Edition, Université de Lorraine
- Writing an automatic bibliography with Zotero: Martin Donnat, Direction of Documentation and Edition, Université de Lorraine
- Using the statistics software “R”: Paul Rougieux, INRA

Each workshop will last approx.  40 minutes, allowing PhD students to follow up to 4 of them.
